his November was a month of spiritual adventures and deep connections for our youth at church. During the first weekend, we took our middle school students to RUOK. The main meeting space was filled with obstacles, aliens, and glow-in-the-dark excitement, providing an immersive experience for our students. Amidst this playful environment, we also delved into discussions about Jesus, engaging in worship and prayer. This retreat wasn't just about fun; it offered a unique space for our students to explore their faith, ask questions, and experience God's presence in a lively and relatable setting.
The following weekend, our high school students embarked on their own retreat, All In, highlighted by an audacious polar jump into a freezing lake at Camp Karl. This act of braving the cold together was more than just a physical challenge; it symbolized our collective commitment to faith, epitomizing the theme of going "All In" with Jesus. Throughout the weekend, we witnessed remarkable transformations. Students who were initially hesitant about worship and prayer became fully engaged, openly praising God, and supporting one another in their spiritual journey.
Both retreats were not just about the activities; they were about building trust, fostering vulnerability, and walking together in faith. Whether navigating through a space-themed obstacle course or leaping into icy waters, these experiences brought us closer, creating a strong sense of community among our students. They learned that being part of the church means being part of a family that supports and grows together in faith.
