A Night at the Range with Marriage Matters

T

he "Marriage Matters Date Night at the Range" was a heartfelt experience designed to bring couples together for an uncommon adventure. Our goal was to create a unique outing that would cater to both men and women, breaking the mold of traditional events. The enthusiasm was palpable, especially among the women, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This gathering was not just about having a good time; it was an opportunity to subtly share our faith with those around us, including the range workers. We aimed to show that being Christians doesn't preclude us from engaging in activities like shooting, thereby challenging common stereotypes and planting seeds of curiosity about our faith and community.

Moreover, this event allowed us to connect with couples not regularly attending church or those who've had negative church experiences. It was a gentle reminder that church communities can be welcoming and non-judgmental, focusing on love, support, and fun in marriage.

A highlight of the evening was witnessing Ariel Bradford's journey with an automatic firearm for the first time. Under her fiancé's guidance, she navigated this new experience with a mix of nervous anticipation and excitement. The moment she pulled the trigger, her face lit up with an unforgettable blend of surprise and joy.

This initiative was part of our broader mission with the Marriage Ministry: to provide a holistic approach to marriage support, encompassing spiritual, foundational, and practical dimensions. We aim to equip couples to reflect God's love in their marriages, emphasizing the importance of unity, communication, and ongoing engagement in each other's lives. Through events like the "Date Night at the Range" and future endeavors, we are committed to building a community where marriages thrive on love, understanding, and shared faith.
