Reflecting on Growth and Looking Ahead

A

s the school year comes to an end, we took time as a church to recognize our young women and men who have achieved something wonderful, high school graduation. Watching them on stage, I felt a surge of pride and joy. It’s one of my favorite days of the year, seeing them prepare to walk across the stage at their graduations. It's a significant accomplishment and a major transition in their lives.

Reflecting on their journey, I remembered many of the graduates from when they were much younger. Those old photos brought back memories of their growth, not just in academics and career pursuits, but also in their faith. I’m incredibly proud of each of them. Memories of the all-boy band in middle school, fishing trips, and goofy photo shoots with their dads came flooding back. These memories are precious, but we also look forward to their futures, knowing that God has big plans for them.

I encourage everyone to join me in prayer for these graduates. This transition from high school to adulthood, whether to college, a career, or the military, is not always easy. It’s a time when they begin to take full ownership of their identities. My hope is that they continue to base their identities on Christ, despite today’s challenges.

I'm grateful for Faith, Matt, Andrea, Johnny, and Levi. I'm thankful to God for bringing them to this point and for how far they’ve come. I pray that they would grow in understanding God's faithfulness and always feel His guiding hand. It’s a blessing to know them, and I pray for their continued closeness to God as they move forward.

Congrats class of 2024!
