t was a nice day for Ice Cream and the Women’s Ministry put out a great spread. On Sept 7, we had an Ice Cream Bar which included everything but the kitchen sink. Three different flavors of ice cream along with sugar free and lactose free ice cream. Toppings included candies, cookies, granola, marshmallows and a multitude of syrups. Approximately 30 women were there and everyone was pleased with the two tables full of food.
Women here at Community Church are sometimes not aware of all the Bible Studies and different opportunities happening for them. We spent some time listing all the days and times of the week that they could plug into Bible Studies and book clubs, etc. It seems that no matter how hard we try to advertise our events, still there are women who are not aware of what is happening. Some have told me that they didn’t come because they didn’t know about our get-together. That makes me sad.
On that Saturday, Kristen and Judy spoke while the women were finishing up their ice cream or getting seconds. We shared the different offices of this ministry;the who, what and why of it. It was a relaxing time, simple, short and ‘sweet’.
We plan to have a Fall Themed event next year. Watch for the dates and times of our upcoming events. As it looks right now, we have something every month except next April, due to Easter.
