ut of nowhere, we all of a sudden have a Puppet Ministry? Well, what might seem like that, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes. Over a year ago, Community Church inherited puppets, stage, cassettes with stories and music. During 2024 VBS preschool teachers mentioned that it would be nice if they had puppets to help tell the stories. After they used them in VBS there was interest in starting a ministry. We had everything except the know-how. I was able to put the leaders in touch with a friend of mine in Georgia who had used puppets for years. So the prep work took months but to be honest, the team has only been practicing for a few weeks. It is great.
This past Sunday, the Puppeteering for Jesus Team showed our First and Second Service children a puppet show. Children sat in AWE. Starring and mouths open, the children paid attention and didn’t move. They loved it. I know for a fact that some of the children have never seen puppets like this before. They are so well made, like on the professional level. The puppets told the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den and when the Lion appeared, one little boy said, “OHH WOW”. He was not the only one who was amazed.
The team has goals like performing monthly for our Children’s Church and they want to go before the big church in the future to show the adults too. I am excited to see this ministry take off and soar.
