few weeks ago we met in the lobby, had a cup of coffee, and worshipped God. That is what Chords and Coffee is all about.
Sunday mornings I have to think about the mics, amps, the slides, the band and the order of songs. At Chords and Coffee, it is just me, worshipers and the presence of God. This is our second Monday night and it is so different from Sunday mornings. For me, our time together is a time that I get to see people from the 1st service and the 2nd service at the same time. I’m sure for those attending, they are seeing different faces and meeting people from their church that they had not met before. We all get to sing and worship together.
It was exciting for me the last night when we met. I told the people that I wanted to teach them a new song, "You've Already Won". I started singing and immediately, I heard voices joining in. They knew the song. How cool.
I mentioned before that God shows up and He did not prove me wrong this last time. People were in deep prayer and you could see some tears. One person seemed to have come by mistake. Well it was not by mistake because God had led them to Community that night. They were not aware that we were having a Chords and Coffee Night and just came into the church. They needed prayer and 2 of our pastors were there and able to talk with them. Prayer cards were passed out and about a dozen were turned back in with deep needs.
We plan to have more of these. People ask me almost weekly when the next one is. I think we will plan one for September, maybe quarterly. Hope to see you there.
